Engen fuel support helps Ashraful Aid with KZN flood relief efforts

Engen has stepped up with fuel support to assist local humanitarian organisation Ashraful Aid with its relief work in KwaZulu-Natal. IDC Donates R1.9m Emergency Relief to KZN Appeal

The IDC donation was used towards supplying a total of 200,000 litres of water, over 80 tons of food as well as thousands of hygiene packs, mattresses and blankets to affected communities during May 2022. This Ramadaan Ashraful Aid teams served over fifty thousand (50,000) Iftaar Hot Meals to needy communities in 3 provinces through our network of local Masjids, Schools and Madrassas in rural and informal areas. Following heavy rains and flooding in parts of KwaZulu-Natal, volunteer teams from Ashraful Aid are in various districts of Durban attending to needs of families. Huge numbers of people lost their homes, possessions and now entirely destitute. People living near rivers are worst affected. Back to School

2022 kicked off busy as usual for our school goers, and Ashraful Aid, benevolent donors, and Caring Women’s Forum were ready for the school year with a combined contribution, 2000 learners received school bags with a surplus of stationary inside. The jubilant smiles received were beyond words. Through our donors and partners, our team distributed books to 19 schools across South Africa.       

Disaster Relief in GEORGE, WESTERN CAPE

Ashraful Aid together with SA Harvest, social services, the George Mayor’s office and local fire fighters swiftly distributed essential items in Ramaphosa informal settlement, New Dawn & Central George which included blankets, mattresses and water. Hot meals were prepared and provided to 350 homeless people. Heavy rainfall wreaked havoc in George and surrounding areas during early 2022. Several clinics have also been affected by the inclement weather.
