The Charity That
Never Runs Out
Wealth given for the sake of Allah does not shrink — it grows, quietly, in ways we may never see.
“The believer's shade on the Day of Resurrection will be his charity.”
— Tirmidhi
More Than a Coin in a Box
Sadaqah is voluntary charity given purely for the pleasure of Allah — separate from the obligatory Zakat. It has no minimum, no fixed season, and no ceiling. A date, a smile, a moment of your time — all of it counts.
In one well-known hadith, the Prophet ﷺ described how a person's charity is nurtured and made to grow by Allah, much like a person raises a young foal — until a single small gift returns to its giver having grown many times over. Sadaqah is described as growing wealth, not reducing it — a promise repeated throughout the Qur'an and Sunnah.
A Good Deed Is Like a Good Tree
The Qur'an compares a good word — and by extension, a good deed — to a good tree: firmly rooted, its branches reaching the sky, giving fruit at every season, by the permission of its Lord. (the meaning of Surah Ibrahim, 14:24–25)
Every gift you plant becomes a branch you may never see — but its fruit reaches someone, somewhere, at exactly the right season.
What Was Promised
Those who spend their wealth for the sake of Allah are like a seed that grows into seven ears, each bearing a hundred grains — and Allah multiplies it further for whoever He wills.
Charity does not decrease wealth, no one forgives another except that Allah increases his honour, and no one humbles himself for Allah except that Allah raises his status.
Every act of goodness is charity — even meeting your brother with a cheerful face.
Guard yourselves against the Fire, even by giving a mere date in charity.
Sadaqah Doesn't Require Wealth
Every believer, in every circumstance, has something to give.
A Kind Smile
Meeting someone with warmth is charity in itself.
A Word of Guidance
Sharing beneficial knowledge is charity that keeps giving.
Removing Harm
Clearing an obstacle from someone's path counts too.
Feeding the Hungry
A meal given quietly can carry someone through their day.
Money & Resources
The form most recognised — and always needed.
Sadaqah Jariyah
A well, a school, a tree planted — reward that outlives you.
What a Small Gift Can Do
These are illustrative figures shared for reflection — the true reward and reach of any act of Sadaqah is known only to Allah.
Plant Something Today
You will likely never see the branch your gift becomes. Give it anyway.
Give Sadaqah NowQur'an references are paraphrased for meaning, not literal translation, out of respect for the original text.
