Ashraful Aid warmly invites you and your team to our 5th annual Mandela Day Employee Volunteer Event, in
partnership with DP World Wanderers Stadium and Lions Cricket. This inspiring initiative brings together
corporate teams to honour Nelson Mandela’s legacy through unity, compassion, and hands-on service.

Reflecting on 2024’s Success
Our 2024 Mandela Day event was a powerful example of collective impact. Over 800 corporate volunteers came
together to pack 5,000 food hampers, providing relief to 20,000 individuals across South Africa. Media coverage
from online and other platforms amplified the event, while corporate sponsors gained significant visibility through
branding, interviews, and digital engagement.
Volunteers described the experience as “deeply fulfilling” and “a meaningful way to give back.” Many organisations
reported increased team morale and stronger staff engagement.
This year, we aim to match—and build upon—that success by once again packing 5,000 food parcels, focusing
on families led by women, households with children, and elderly individuals.
As part of Ashraful Aid’s extensive national food programme and our commitment to making a positive difference in our community, we have organized a special program for the day.
The target is to pack 5,000 food parcels for the needy, providing meals for up to 20,000 individuals.
These food parcels will be distributed to families in need focusing primarily on women, children and the elderly.
We believe that by coming together as a community and working towards a common goal, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those who need it most.
Mandela Day is not only a day of remembrance but also a call to action, urging us to emulate Madiba’s spirit of selflessness and compassion.

On Mandela Day, individuals are encouraged to participate in a wide range of activities that contribute to making a positive impact in their communities and the world at large.
Ashraful Aid teams up with Lions Cricket to undertake a food hamper drive in Johannesburg. Volunteers come together at in Johannesburg at the Wanderers Stadium to pack food hampers for distribution.
In what has become an iconic event on Mandela Day in Johannesburg, we invite you to join our teams on the Friday, 18th of July 2025 at 9:00am as we embark on another Mandela day initiative.
