Following heavy rains and flooding in parts of KwaZulu-Natal, volunteer teams from Ashraful Aid are in various districts of Durban attending to needs of families. Huge numbers of people lost their homes, possessions and now entirely destitute. People living near rivers are worst affected.
Scenes from Marianhill, Verulam, Tongaat and Waterloo in KwaZulu-Natal province where Ashraful Aid Disaster Response teams are providing emergency items such as food, blankets and mattresses to residents. One of the biggest challenges right now is to get bottled water to people as municipal water infrastructure is severely damaged.
We are appealing for donations such as food items, blankets, funds and shelter materials.
