Poverty affects thousands of Women and girls from purchasing basic hygiene essentials. This Women’s month Ashraful Aid embarked on raising funds and collecting items for the distribution of hygiene packs. The packs consisted of a branded bag filled with sanitary pads, soap, deodorant, toothpaste, toothbrush, body lotion and face masks.
At least 700 hygiene packs were prepared and distributed during Women’s Month in Johannesburg, Lenasia and Azaadville. The areas of distribution included Lahae, Thembelihle informal settlement, Finetown, Lawley, Orange Farm, Roodepoort, Florida, Lenasia South, Lenasia (children’s homes and underprivileged schools), Marlboro, Azaadville, Yeoville and Newclare.
