Mpumalanga Flood Relief

In February 2023, the people of Mpumalanga in South Africa were affected by severe floods. This caused extensive damage to homes, infrastructure, and farms in the region. The floods also affected thousands of households, and several roads were closed due to damage caused by the heavy downpours and rockfalls. People were left without food, water, shelter, and other essential items.

We, at Ashraful Aid sent out a team to help provide relief to those affected by the floods. We worked with local authorities and other partners to firstly assess the impact of the disaster and then identify the needs of the people in the affected areas.

On February 24th, in collaboration with Shoprite, we distributed grocery hampers to the families affected by the flood in the Nkomazi District area of Mpumalanga. Disaster management and the local Mayoral team also assisted with the relief efforts.

While the distribution of the grocery hampers was a welcome gesture, the scale of the disaster means that much more assistance is needed to help the people of Mpumalanga get back on their feet. We are committed to continuing to support those affected by the floods and this is only possible with YOUR donations.
We keep a ready supply of various disaster relief items in our facilities. Donate and help us keep these stocks replenished at all times.
As we reflect on the impact of the floods in Mpumalanga, we extend our heartfelt condolences to the families who lost loved ones in this disaster. We also urge everyone to support our relief efforts by donating towards our disaster relief project.
